« Post Valentine's Day Evil Mother Syndrome | Main | "I'll take Geography for $300, Alex." »

February 24, 2012

I'm 64,fat,don't feel good in my own skin, always looking for a diet and the fix.
I was a normal "curvy" 8 year old when my mother started taking me to the "fat doctor" I got down to a size 8 when I was in my late 20's and married at 29. By the way my favorite Aunt told me when I lost the wieght "just need to flatten your tummy".
I have never liked myself since I found out I was fat and there fore not a worthy comodity, not sure if that is really what we want to be a "worth comodity" but we sure are given that impression everywhere we look.
Both of my sisters (1 older, 1 younger) were skinny, the boys liked them and one boy was gracious enough to ask me "what happened to you?" I told him some one had to have the brains.
It is not just for girls, it happens to boys too. It hurts. You are right no one is going to make us believe that we can’t be curvy and healthy, strong and beautiful, except ourselves. I am glad your daughter knows she is.

Omg Dida. You are so funny. I have been reading your blog and feel like I've known you forever. So happy we met today. It was a good day. Hugs, Eva
